Modified Phase III "extreme" water restrictions are in effect in Polk County from April 3 through July 1, 2026, due to severe drought. Lawn irrigation is limited to once per week, restricted to specific hours (12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. OR 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.) to conserve water, with fines possible for violations.

Key Water Restriction Details (Effective April 3, 2026):
- Schedule: Watering is allowed one day per week based on the last number of your address:
- 0 or 1: Monday
- 2 or 3: Tuesday
- 4 or 5: Wednesday
- 6 or 7: Thursday
- 8 or 9: Friday
- No address/Common areas: Friday
- Times: 12:01 a.m. to 4 a.m. or 8 p.m. to 11:59 p.m.
- Scope: Applies to all Polk County Utilities customers, including those with private wells or reclaimed water.
- Other Restrictions: Handwatering is only allowed before 8 a.m. or after 6 p.m.. Car washing is allowed only on your designated irrigation day.
- Violations: No warning letters are issued; first infractions can lead to fines.
